Catarman, Camiguin – LGU Catarman was declared as the 2nd Overall Most Competitive Municipality in the 5th-6th Class Category in the recently concluded Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development. Rankings of Cities and Municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on 5 Pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation. Provincial rankings are based on population and income weighted average of the Overall scores of cities and municipalities under a province. Catarman ranked 4th in Economic Dynamism, 4th in Government Efficiency, 17th in Infrastructure, 14th in Resiliency, and 20th in Innovation.
